Some fun things

Kyle and I were both in need of some new shoes, but not the same kind. I decided I was finally fed up with getting snow and slush in my shoes all winter. I've never actually purchased snow boots, but knew this year I had to. My feet are always cold and I was certain I could find something utilitarian to keep my feet dry and warm.

What I found was much cuter than utilitarian, and much warmer than I could have expected. These are awesome boots (from DSW--my new favorite store).

Not only are they super cute, but look at the lining!

Even the foot bed is lined with this faux fur. It rocks!

Kyle has not had any brown dress shoes ever, I think. He has his high school Doc Martens, but they definitely aren't appropriate with khakis, and now that I got him some really sweet khakis for his birthday (last April), it was HIGH time he found some shoes.

On Black Friday, we found an unbelievable deal at DSW for these designer shoes. We'd been tipped off by our cousin that these are the dress shoes for comfort and style. We were, of course, sold even though the price was steep. Which made the super sale even more amazing...they were more than 50% off!

We had some trouble with the sizes, but eventually got that figured out. These babies are beautiful!

Where're my shoes, Ma...I'm going Shoeless.

After attempting to run this evening, and finding that my toes, arches, ankles, and other portions of my feet were cramping to a most painful degree (in which I was limping home), I said

-- Not again! I will not run in these shoes again!

The reason I had to get web access at home was for such times as this. I had to answer the question: where can I find my Brooks Adrenaline GTS running shoes?

I've worn these tennis shoes for probably 3 or 4 years exclusively. I will not run in another pair of shoes. And the GTS has had several iterations. Versions 4, 5, and 6 (twice over) are all ones that I have tried. And loved. Each version is better than the previous one.

I found out online before driving 35 minutes to a store, that a new iteration has come out this year; #7. It has a new insole and some other features. But it's the same shoe; beautiful and comfy on my extra-wide bunion-ridden feet. I also found online that the Muncie Mall had it in stock, whereas the Marion one did not.

As you can see, the seventh version is subtly pretty, like all the others I've had. The colors vary between each design, but they're always tasteful. No blaring, glaring or garish colors. This is the one I bought tonight - saving nearly 25%. I love back-to-school sales!

Why is it

that when a girl wears cute shoes she feels sexier?

I don't understand.

I've never been in on this secret, until my sister insisted I buy some heels this year. I had a taste of it, but didn't trust this new-found feeling.

Today while Christmas shopping, I saw several pairs of cute heels - I tried them all on and nearly bought 4 of them. Instantaneously I felt different with them on.

I hate having to give in to "facts" that culture and society have laid out for me, but it's true.

I'm cuter in heels.
