The Ides of September

Some days, you just need Christmas, no matter what the time of year.

On days when
  • You get up at 6:30am
  • You teach any number of classes (1 to however many)
  • You experience technical difficulties in a computer lab, where it's essential that doesn't happen
  • Your presentation monitor goes blank for no reason in the middle of the presentation
  • You've taught 4 classes of freshman in two days
Sometimes, the only way to get Christmas on the Ides of September (which was, well, yesterday according to Wikipedia), is to visit your local Starbucks.

It's more of a Christmas-in-my-mouth sort of experience, this Decaf, Nonfat, Grande Peppermint Mocha.

It's exactly what the doctor ordered (if by doctor, I mean...well...me).

Disaster Relief

I just made the worst cup of coffee ever in the world. Perhaps I was to asleep to know any better.

A new tool that has revolutionized my coffee-making and drinking at work is the manual coffee filter cone. I use it nearly every day with my scrumtralescent French Vanilla coffee.

Today, however, I misjudged the amount of grounds I put in the filter, based on a particularly strong cup I made and gagged on last week.

Oops.

Try, try again.

Morning revelation

Every time I drink a cup of coffee, within 15 minutes my eyes are painfully dry and gritty.

I knew coffee was a diuretic, but come on.
